It's been labeled "stormageddon". Simply translated, a few days stuck in the house. I know it's not been easy for those that have to get out and work or travel in it, or who have lost power. But I had to go out and take a few pictures.
Interesting the impact of ice on the trees. This lot sits across the road from our house. Wednesday, the day it was only snowing:
As a comparison, below is Thursday, the ice storm. We could hear the branches and trees snapping under the weight of the ice.
They look sad, don't they?

Washington Scenic Byways #7
Apparently Washington State has 27 scenic byways (can you tell I've only lived here 3 years)! I love road trips AND travel/landscape photography. Plus I have a very patient husband who pulls over when I yell, "Stop here I want a picture of that." Sweet! So we have agreed that we would take each one at a time and drive it. I'm not sure how long it will take us, I'd like to say we can do them all in a year. But there are only 12 months, so I'm thinking it will take a couple years at least. Anyway, this first one I didn't realize we had already done; I got pictures.
#7 Strait of Juan De Fuca Highway - 61 Miles:
Port Angeles, Elwha, Joyce, Clallam Bay, Sekiu
"The end of the line in the northwest continental United States, the Strait of Juan de Fuca Highway traverses the rugged coast-line of the northwest corner of Washington State. Lined by stark cliffs and the magnificent old-growth forests of Olympic National Park, the byway offers peek-a-boo views of Vancouver Island and the Strait of Juan de Fuca. From the road you can spy bald eagles, migrating gray whales, and uncommon sea birds like puffins and auklets. With friendly towns know for world-class salmon and halibut fisheries, a 100+ year-old timber harvesting industry, and access to the ancient culture of the Makah Indians, it's a recreational travelers paradise." - Washington State Scenic Byways WDOT map

Hazelton Family Smiles
Introducing the Hazelton Family...
They braved the morning cold at the park for some shots without coats.
Having a teenage son can look like this at times.
But you know what they say, "A family who plays together...
...stays together."
Your love of life and laughter shows! Thanks for sharing your smiles with us all.
